Teenagers and Technology!

The Evanston Township High School YTC Digital Media Program is on a mission to empower teenagers with the technological skills of the 21st century!

In the video below, teenager and tech superstar Jessica shows the world how to change RAM on a laptop. She understands technical terminology and why step-by-step instructions are crucial to completing an intricate task such as this one.

Jessica is just one out of many teenagers enrolled in a Youth Technology Corps Program. The YTC Network is a collection of community/school computer clubs and associated partners connected and supported through a central hub. Since 2010, YTC has held Iron Tech Competitions every spring in Cicero, Illinois where 150 youth have demonstrated their expertise as they competed for prizes in “Iron-Chef-like” contests.

Technology is only going to grow as we do. It will become more detailed, more powerful, and change more lives for the better. Teenagers such as Jessica already have a head start to understanding how the world will work around them. They will be ready with wisdom when it comes time to win science projects for scholarships, or even create a career for themselves.
